How pepper spray work?

The hot red pepper is used as an irritant. The spray causes a burning sensation in the eyes and skin (we were asked not to spray directly into eyes, the fumes will carry up your eyes when you spray on lower body). It causes a feeling of panic, tightness in chest, in addition to burning in the eyes, tears and tears. All this will help prevent someone from attacking you or someone else. The irritation is not harmful in the long term, but it makes them want to pick up their toys and go home (actually, they just want to leave and not to choose, even their toys). I NEVER had it fail me in a situation, it has always worked well enough to get the person handcuffed, even when they intended previously hitting on me or other officers. It also works on dogs that have decided that you are what for dinner, instead of beef. I actually had a guy an apology after he got sprayed when he persisted in trying to start a fight with another person drunk in a parking lot. He said "man, burning stuff, I do not want you to spray me with that, I just wanted figtht that guy!" So, long story short, I left the police before the Taser is the way to my department, but the pepper spray was Berry, berry good to me!
