Can I take another company to small claims, even if they change the name of the company?
I took my car in a store to have some transmission work. I had to be replaced. I got my car back from the shop and then he was towed, the clutch fork fell. I called the store and now they ask for additional allocations to repair my car. I do not think I should have to pay more to get my car fixed when I already paid for the work. Can I still take them to small claims court, even if their company name has changed?
Yes, this is called "dba" or "doing business as" so that even if a company changes its name to a hundred times, they are always accountable for their actions. Then you file your claim against the company whose name is on the receipt you got your original payment, but as this: "Acme Garage, dba Joe's Garage", or whatever the two names. Good luck!
