Years ago my brother used to remove it in some way and can hold up, tip her head back and drink flows of soda. I was so jealous of him! He would never tell me how he did it. It can be searched off with his fingernail, but we were not very old, and I think that does her nails torn out of bed.
Pop it with a butter knife or pick up the phone and ask.
