Why antique collectors like things restored?

So I'm watching this show Pawn Stars, and they have restored an old Coca-Cola machine. This has been restored and basically every part was replaced. What is the difference between a restoration and a replica if they will simply replace all the parts? Would collectors want the real thing, however, beat, it can be?

It depends on the type element. To truly valuable, rare antiques, most people would not want to restore, or restore obvious. But for things like a box of Coca-Cola is useful only if it displays and works well. A restored version will sell for less than an original version, it is therefore desirable to a collector who does not have enough money for an all-original machine.
