E Bay is lowering the value of collectibles?
I noticed that Collectibles (like vintage figurines, etc.) not sell or sell very cheap on E Bay, despite their high prices for registration. The presence of E Bay cut the price of items Collectible making them more accessible to collectors?
It can go both ways. It makes the supply and demand in a limited range time. Pretty simple concept when you think about it. The price can go well above the fair market value, so many people want the issue. Also, if there are not many people who want the issue then it could go for below market value. Not that they are making them more accessible to collectors is the case, its over the limited amount of people actully interested in the issue at a time. Let every collector starwars vintage figurine was searching eBay for numbers, then you can pretty much bet that the price is fair market value, if not more, because of the excitement "and" competition " auction. At least thats how I see it, hope it makes sense.
